FAQ
The sound stops when the screen turns off
Some Android phones aggressively kill background audio to save battery. To keep Doze playing while the screen is off:
- Open Settings → Apps → Doze → Battery.
- Set Battery usage to Unrestricted.
- On Samsung devices, also disable Settings → Device care → Battery → Background usage limits → Sleeping apps for Doze.
I don't see media controls on my lock screen
Lock-screen media controls appear after a scene starts playing. If they don't:
- Make sure the scene is actually playing (the Play button should show "Stop").
- Pull down the notification shade — the media tile appears there too.
- On Android 13+, grant notification permission when prompted.
The bedtime reminder doesn't fire
- Toggle the reminder off and on once in Settings — this re-schedules it.
- Check that notification permission is granted (Android 13+).
- Disable battery optimization for Doze (see the section above).
How do I download a scene for offline use?
Offline downloads are a premium feature and not active in the soft-launch build. When premium is available, the download button will appear on each scene's player screen.
How much does Doze cost?
The current soft-launch build is fully free with all eight scenes unlocked. We're verifying that the experience earns trust before offering Premium. When Premium launches it will be either $24.99 per year or $39.99 once — no subscription jail.
Will there be an iPhone version?
Yes, after we've validated the Android release. The codebase is already cross-platform; we're just being deliberate about scope.
